Text or Image?
It'd be interesting to find out what types of Adsense banners etc. people use on their sites and why they do so.
I've been using text banners (leaderboard size) on my forums for a while now, but I only put it at the bottom of the forum. I also have a smaller banner that is set to 'image only' which is under the first post of every new thread. Now, while these seem to pull in a reasonable amount of money, it's not nearly enough to actually say I'm making a good amount of money off the forum. What have you found to be the best combination?
The way I figure it, the larger and more vibrant it is, the more eyecatching it should be (meaning a leaderboard image should be the most clicked) but I'm not so sure that's the case...

People usually uses adsense text banners in their blog/site. IMO, both of them will be just fine as long as you're targeting those juicy keywords. ;)

Personally I would say text, as it looks more appealing to click on as it doesn't always look like an advert, and sometimes looks like navigation. That said, you should never try and trick your users as that's against TOS.

Ive been using Text only adsense for a while now on most of my ads, ive heard somewhere that text only ads pay higher click rates than banners but banners get more clicks so its worth testing each one for a couple of weeks to see which performs better in your niche

While creating code opt for both 'text & image' option and choose the large rectange so that you can get all the image adds.

I use both text & image. If image is more expensive than 3 or 4 text links you just earn more!
