Google blog search manual ping
Google Blog Search is become more popular after the blog search comes out of beta with new and improve features and home page. Google Blog search home page now consisted with the latest hot trends from blogs all over the world. You can exploit the home page of blog search from http://blogsearch.google.com
The blog search is categorized into various topics like, Politics, US, World, Business, Technology, Video Games, Science, Entertainment, Movies, Television and Sports.
It is recommend that you set up automatic pinging for your blog, so that it will be index in google blog search as soon as possible. If your blog is not index in Google blog search, you can also submit it manually for inclusion here: http://blogsearch.google.com/ping Google always periodically crawl and refresh manually-added blogs, but resubmitting ensures that the latest posts is index.

But is ping still really necessary giving how fast Google update blogposts this days, usually when I post stuff to my blog, within about 5 minutes or so, its in Google SERPs, do I still need to ping all the above serve when I create a new blogpost?

Temi, I don't really know the answer for that question. Maybe you don't need it for Google but the others? Who knows? I just set it to ping those urls as I wanted to be sure that info was flowing to all concerned when I posted. Also, I didn't want excessive pinging which that plug in controls to avoid a 'spam' alert.

Refer Pingomatic.com. It can ping to different services at same time. I am using it and its cool too :)

I really do not thing about ping sites.....but better option is to have tweet that post at same time

Your blog is trusted by Google hence you contents is in its SERPs within 5 mins of posting, with a blog like that there is no need for any ping service in my openion.
