Thread: The use of web directory significantly reduced?

I used to have several submission to my web directories a few years ago, I still get site requesting listing but hot half as much as the number of sites I used to get back in those days, I wonder if other web directory owners have similar experienced and what do you think is the cause of this, Google crusade against web directories or the recession? Your thoughts and speculations are welcomed.

Traffic to one of my directories dropped after it was removed from page 1 on Google.

The site is still listed on page 1 on other search engines which does help.

A good way of bringing in traffic for your web directory is to add your directory to directory list sites.
