    Default Automated Appraisals

What are you thoughts on automated appraisals? Do they have any place or value in domaining? Is it possible to get an accurate valuation from a set of calculations established without the key hard data?

I'd like to think it is possible to get an accurate automated appraisal tool, but there don't appear to be any around at the moment. It seems that nothing can beat a mixture of good domaining knowledge and a bit of common sense.

Estibot, for example, which is probably the most well known automated appraisal tool around, gives some interesting figures.

It gives WMS an appraisal of $110,000 and bbc.co.uk an appraisal of ... wait for it.. $330!

If either of those sites sold for anywhere near those prices I'd eat my hat. I really don't understand how they work out the valuations.

The integrity of a domain has something to do with the price . And such prices should be measured by the quality and stability of domain name for a long time. It goes smoothly to be in usage forever.
