Dear Publisher,
Due to US tax regulations all Commission Junction publishers are required to clarify their status as non-US publishers by filling in one of two forms. Unfortunately completion of this form is a requirement for payment so we would appreciate you filling out the relevant form by the 10th December.
Whilst we cannot give any specific tax advice we want to make it as easy as possible to fill in the forms. There are two options of form to fill out. Simply read the two descriptions below, choose which one is applicable to you and fill in the corresponding form. The forms can be found in the CJ Account Manager.
Description 1
You DON’T have any US employees or equipment engaging in US activities for your Affiliate Marketing Programme.
US activities include, but are not limited to, owning a web server or hosting service in the US, or having employees in the US who are involved in any of the following:

• Setting up a publisher web server, hosting service, or website
• Developing content for a publisher website
• Marketing to create a user base for a publisher website
• Telephone support for a publisher website
• Buying products for a publisher website
• Maintaining a publisher website

If Description 1 matches your business then you need to fill out a ‘Certification of No United States Activities (non-US persons).’
Or:
Description 2
You DO have US employees or equipment engaging in US activities for your Affiliate Marketing Programme
US activities include, but are not limited to, owning a web server or hosting service in the US, or having employees in the US who are involved in any of the following:

• Setting up a publisher web server, hosting service, or website
• Developing content for a publisher website
• Marketing to create a user base for a publisher website
• Telephone support for a publisher website
• Buying products for a publisher website
• Maintaining a publisher website

If Description 2 matches your business then you need to fill out a ‘W-8BEN Certificate or Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Witholding (non –US persons)’
Both forms can be accessed in your CJ Account Manager. **Please note that the signature on the form must be the same as of the Super User on your account.
VAT is still optional for publishers. If you do not wish to enter a VAT number then just leave this field blank.
