Improvement to card fraud detection
Some of the leading banks are stepping up card fraud detection technology. Apparently card fraud is on the rise again, it rose by 14% in the first half of 2008 and card fraud abroad now accounts for 40% of all card crime.
After several years of falling numbers, card fraud started rising again in 2007. Latest figures indicated exceeded £600m in 2008.
