Default Paypal Disputes

Has anyone here had to go through a Paypal dispute? If so, what's your story and how do you feel Paypal handled it?

I've had problems both ways, with someone opening a dispute against me and visa versa.

The dispute against me was resolved reasonably quickly through my own actions (it was due to a CD being damaged in transit, that I was selling; they opened a dispute instead of contacting me directly) so there were no problems with that.

However, the dispute I opened was when I sent someone money for an item that was simply never delivered. I waited a few days and contacted them and got no response. Tried again and ditto. I opened a dispute and after them saying they'd sent it and me denying I'd ever recieved it, they gave them the benefit of the doubt. Paypal weren't exactly helpful in the matter seen as they could not prove they had sent it, so surely the ball should have been in my court. Apparently not.. :(

always buy products from trusted seller , but frauds are very much common these days .

One of my friend went through the agony too. He pushed the domain and the buyer raised the dispute he has lost both the domain and money

Paypal are terrible unless you have solid proof of it not being your fault, like a tracking number etc.

For digital products and websites especially it seems they support the buyer more than the seller , ive seen alot of people selling a website after payment and then having the payment reversed once the website and domains are transferred.

In large transactions i always try and get the buyer to pay via the paypal "gift" , this way when a charge back is placed they just get the message " this was a gift , please follow the complaint with the other person."

Works much better.
