    Default Populating a forum : Part 2

Further to my original post below, I thought I start this as a new thread as its related but is also a standalone bit of information.

As it stands, this is what is and isn't working to get new posts onto a new forum.
    • Forum posts requesting people help in return for a sticky = no success
    • Forum posts requesting 3 way link exchange on my other sites in return for a few posts = 2 takers
    • Post in a content creation forum on a well known forum offering payment for posts = lots of takers.
Averaging around $15 for 100 posts by 5 user accounts. These offers varied quite a lot from 30 posts to over 200. I recommend getting a couple of test posts done by them to see the quality of the posts - and then go from that.

However - one mistake I did make was only do this if you are serious about them working for you. I asked one guy to do me a test post but he went ahead and did 5. He was really annoyed when I gave the work to someone else (but this was only because they got back really promptly.) I feel that I have lost a good potential business partner in this though - and no amount of grovelling won him back. Although I felt it was not my fault as he did so many test posts, he was obviously keen for the work and wanted to impress and I did not give hime enough time.

One last one I thought would havbe worked but didn't was Freelancer websites. I posted on there and got only 2 responses. They seemed really over priced and the reviews are not great. Probably only worth doing if you've a big budget.

Hope this helps some of you anyway.
