Google is now involved in everything that means music. Searh Music giant will launch a service where consumers can buy songs for download. "Music Pages" will have images of musicians and bands, artwork for albums, links to news, lyrics, videos and previews. Apparently sales will be mediated by a retail distributor of music, Lala, and iLike, samples of the songs appear on players online, users are not forced to fly further to buy that song. This new method is an attempt of Google and companies to promote alternatives to iTunes. Big companies like Universal, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI, have proposed this idea a year ago. Google will not receive a percentage of sales, but will still have income from advertisements to be displayed in searches.
