Do you turn off your computer?
I wounder if you turn off your computer at night? I found this interesting topic on the internet which claims that turning off uses the same amount of energy as it would be left on "hibernate" mode.

Yeah I go for "sleep" or "hibernate" option most of the time. But I will make sure that I turn off it atleast three days once. If I have missed I will restart it intentionally to free up some unwnated resources.

Always turning off or at least stand-by it.

When I don't need the computer for an hour, it's on sleeping mode. When I'm going to bed, I turn it off. There's no need for the computer to be on while he shouldn't be doing anything ;)

I have read that for many of the newer computers that draw a lot more electricity, it is more efficient to not turn them off. With my Mac, I put it in Sleep, and with my PC I hibernate it, so I guess I'm saving the planet :) Also, I'm impatient and don't like to wait for the bootup!

I turn off my computer every time. In our office during lunch time we turn off our monitors to save the energy.

Most times i hibernate instead of turning off cause i don't want to close some pages. I put off my laptop a few days in the week though. So which is actually better, hibernate or shut down?

I turn off my PC when I am at home but while being in Office, I usually hibernate. Yeah, it’s true that both modes consume the same level of energy.
