In a world where pressure is increasing on young women and teenage girls to look, act and live a certain way, it is no surprise that devastating conditions such as anorexia, self harm and low self-esteem are rife amongst our younger generation. Social entrepreneur Ila Panik has set out to change the way teen girls feel about themselves with the launch of U4U â?? a pioneering membership club for young ladies thatâ??s built upon four pillars: fitness, kindness, culture and environment. Participation includes weekly meetings, team activities, building small enterprises, accessing professional coaching and making new friends. It is a fresh, fun and quality community for teens. U4U will launch on May 17th at Girlation â?? an event which aims to inspire, entertain and pamper. U4U strives to support the development of healthy, happy, confident and capable young ladies, and U4U girls will be inspirations to their peers, communities, educational institutions, careers, the world and - most importantly - themselves. U4U will challenge issues such as obesity, anorexia, depression, self harm, cultural intolerance and global warming. Further roll out of U4U will take place in the summer of 2009 when 20 lucky girls will have the chance to be founding members through the U4U pilot program. The broader release will take place in September 2009 - to coincide with the school term. To find out more about girlation and U4U, visit www.u4uk.co.uk
