The Natural Way To Insulate Your Home
Consumers still reeling from huge energy bills following this year's harsh winter now have a sustainable and environmentally-friendly way to reduce their heating costs. HEATKEEPER® Natural Wool Insulation, launched by energy-saving specialist, Joulesave Ltd, is a new insulation product for loft, walls and floors manufactured from sheep's wool.Independent climate change advisor, the Energy Saving Trust, estimates that houses with no insulation lose a quarter of their heat through the roof, which results in 15 percent of heating costs being wasted. The National Insulation Association puts the amount of heat lost by an average home through its loft space and walls at 40 percent. Even insulated properties can often benefit from it being made more effective.HEATKEEPER Natural Wool Insulation provides householders with a highly effective eco alternative to the mineral-based products, such as glass fibre, felt and rockwool, traditionally used to insulate buildings. The natural fibre's ability to absorb moisture keeps homes warm in winter. Its release of this vapour when the outside temperature increases then has a cooling effect on properties in the summer. In addition to regulating moisture levels in buildings, HEATKEEPER Natural Wool Insulation is fire-resistant, energy-efficient to manufacture, sound-absorbing and can last the lifetime of a property. It is also biodegradable, and can be recycled at the end of its useful life. Unlike most insulation products, its natural status makes it easy-to-install, not least because it does not need protective clothing such as gloves or facemasks.â??This product solves a multitude of headaches for homeowners â?? it is a natural fibre from a renewable resource that helps people save money, keep their houses warm and reduce their carbon footprint,â?? explains Bob Shire, director at Joulesave Ltd explains. â??It is no coincidence that sheep survive in very cold temperatures - whether you believe in Darwin or intelligent design, this is one of the many examples in which nature proves it has the answer to a man-made problem.â??Available in 400mm and 600mm widths, HEATKEEPER® Natural Wool Insulation is available from the HEATKEEPER website, www.heatkeeper.co.uk.
