Visa Europe could have been saying "Know what you did last Christmas" when they release figures of how many transaction their customers in Europe made on Christmas of 2008, according to Visa Europe, European made 1.7 million transactions, that is 10% more than shoppers spend on Christmas day of 2007. Visa Europe is quite confident that the spending on Christmas of 2009 will be more than the 1.7 million of 25th December 2008.

In total, transaction on Visa between December 1 2008 and January 4, 2009 was over half a billion at 532 Million.
