Yahoo Site Explorer Shuts Down
November 21, 2011, Site Explorer shuts down. With the cease of existence of yahoo explorer online marketers will not have free access to valuable information it provides especially free assess to competitors analysis.
Bing Webmaster Tools or Google Webmaster Central for now provides analysis to just sites you claim.
Do you use site explorer? WIll the closing up of this service affects you.

It was a valuable alternative to Google for viewing backlinks.

Yes with Yahoo Site Explorer shutting down, it would really be very hard in preforming SEO especially competitor analysis.....
