Thread: What is the best way to control spam

A company I know recently replace the need for users to verify their email to control spam and fake registration with using real people. The problem was that they are losing many genuine client whilst trying to get rid of fake hence trowing the baby out with the bath water.

if you are using WordPress then you can use free spam control plugins and keep your site spam free easily.

A few things I've seen the Admin at www.iwf.ie do:

1. Block any posts from countries like India, Nigeria - that would probably take away 90% of it straight away.
