Thread: Facebook have almost 100 million fake users

Apparently Facebook have just announced that almost 10% of its users are fake. According to Faceebook, 8.7% of its 955 million active users might not be real. In total, Facebook said it estimated there were 83.09 million fake users, which it classified in three groups.
Duplicate profiles account for 4.8% of the fakes, user-misclassified accounts amounted to 2.4%, and 1.5% of users were described as "undesirable".

One of the reasons that made Facebook come out with the figure is the fact that advertisers are not getting the kind of clicks expected from a site with the number of users Facebook claim to have.

This doesn't surprise me, Facebook is one of the largest sites on the Internet, and I've heard they have less than 100 staff.
