Google remains the leader in the global search market, according to a study made by comScore.
Over 131 billion searches were made in last year's December, representing a 46% increase comparing to 2008. This means over 4 billion searches/day, or 29 million searches/minute.
The Google sites were the top choice worldwide, having 87.8 billion searches, or 66.8 percent of global searches made. In other words, this represents an increase in search query volume with 58% comparing to the past year.
Yahoo sites got second position, with 9.4 billion searches, and the third position is occupied by Baidu, a Chinese search engine, with 8.5 billion searches made.
From the top search engines, Microsoft sites had the biggest increase (70%), due to the launch of their new search engine, Bing.
The Yandex Russian search engine also grew with 91% in the past year.
