Thread: What is new about Google Caffeine?

As you know, last week Google Caffeine was officially launched, but what this means, in large terms?

Caffeine is a new web indexing system which claims to provide 50% more accurate results than the last one. So what is new and interesting about this new system? Here are the two main features of Caffeine:

1. When a page is crawled, it will be available almost instant to web searchers. This does not mean that a page will be crawled faster though.

2. There will be no ranking changes due to the launch of Caffeine. This has nothing to do with SERP, but only with how Google indexes webpages.

However, different webmasters reported lower traffic, changes in SERP or even higher traffic. Does this mean Caffeine actually has something to do with SERP? Could be, while Caffeine change the way it filters duplicate content, how it is indexing pages and so on.

What do you think, will major changes occur in short time? How did it affect you?

Google Caffeine is counting every millisecond is very important and valuable for a user. Time and accuracy is very important for search engines. According to Google, this new algorithm will more focus main factors like Indexing, Crawling, and Ranking.

Google has just unveiled a “secret project” of “next-generation architecture for Google’s web search“. This new architecture appears to include crawling, indexing, and ranking changes. For the first time, Google isn’t simply incorporating these changes into their existing infrastructure or replacing it. Instead, they’re providing a developer preview and are asking webmasters and power searchers to try it out and give them feedback. Unlike Google’s now-defunct SearchMash, which was intended for search experiments that wouldn’t necessarily be incorporated into Google’s main web search, the caffeine index seems to be an entirely new search infrastructure that will repace what exists now.

There are many changes in this year like Caffeine, Google instant.

Conclusion

While this test was nowhere near scientific, we do have some solid takeaways:

New Google is FAST: It often doubled the speed of Google classic.
New Google relies more on keywords: SEO professionals, your job just got a lot harder. The algorithm’s definitely different. It has more reliance on keyword strings to produce better results.
Search is moving into real-time: Being able to get info on breaking events is clearly a priority for Google and Bing. With both launching real-time search engines, they needed to respond.
It’s partially a response to Bing: At least, that’s how we feel. This new search has a focus on increasing speed, relevancy, accuracy, and the index volume, things that Microsoft really hit on when it released Bing. It feels as if Google “Caffeine” is meant to shore up any deficiencies it may have when compared to Microsoft’s offering, though it’s been in the works long before Bing launched.

The new Google will only get better as features are implemented and developed. The end result is a better search experience for the user. Competition really does breed innovation.
