    Default Cell Phone Recycling

Got a new cell phone as a present? Don't throw your old one. There are more than one company willing to help you out and recycle it for you.

The one I used (and very happy about my choice) is GRC Wireless Recycling.
They are dedicated to using zero landfill recycling techniques (sounds pretty earth friendly to me :) ) and offer fundraising programs for retailers and wholesalers, their website says. But I needed to recycle only one cell phone.

I was glad to learn GRC Recycling accepts all kinds of cell phones and you can even choose a charity or organization of your choice to support when you donate used cell phone. I printed a label to ship my cell phone free and supported a local charity with the money I got.

It was easy, quick and "green". Donate cell phone and recycle it.

if you need more info on services here's the website of GRC Recycling:

    GO Green!

I am just curious here! I have seen a documentary that says alot of these recyclers that claim to not send things to the landfill and recylce them really end up sending them to china where they are salvaged for scrap in very inhumane ways that pollute the environment not to mention the health of the workers. I am not saying that these companies do this but its worth checking into as you just never know. Out of site, out of mind as the saying goes!

My old cell phone is now used by my little brother, I guess that is even better than recycling so before you give your cell phone back to the provider, you might want to sell it on ebay or give it away as a gift to somebody who does not have a cell phone. Because recycling means destruction and destruction can never be as good as keeping it the way it is.

I know of a few charities that reuse cell phones instead of recycling, providing them to people who would need them in an emergency but could not otherwise afford them.

Yeah, giving your old cellphones to family members and friends that do not have one already is a pretty good idea. You could even sell it secondhand. Usually, my cellphones die on me before i replace them, so someone like me could do with a recycling company. These companies should think about outlining what they do with these phones they receive, maybe on their website.
