Economic Slowdown Affecting Recycling
Recycling plants aren't charities, they're in it for the money, and in this economy now even recycling is hurt. Exide announced that on April 1 their Baton Rouge battery recycling facility will stop accepting new materials, and is expected to then shut down within 90 days (I'd be working very slowly if I were there...).
Exide says it will reopen the plant when the economy turns around, but who knows when that will be?

Since a slow economy uses less resources, lowering the price of new raw materials, I think we're going to see less and less recycling throughout this recession.
