Newbie requesting help
Dear All,
My brother is a private tutor (everything from 11+ to undergraduate mathematics) located in Birmingham but has no presence on the web. Over the years I've watched him work with Yell, etc., simply adding his phone number to online directories even though I've suggested (strongly) that he needs a small business website.
For his birthday I'd like to help set up a website for his tutoring business. He is not at all Internet savvy, and I won't be around to help monitor and/or set up the site, so I was thinking about paying for a web design service to create the thing--domain name, build, hosting, traffic, etc. I can certainly help provide needed language and graphics, but I'd prefer the site to be managed by someone who knows what they're doing.
Is there someone out there or perhaps a particular thread within the forum I should address? Any help members might be willing to provide would be appreciated. We need help.
Thank you for your time.

Des,
the best way to go about this is to look in your local yellow pages for someone who design sites for local businesses and get him to give you a quote. Get 2 or 3 quotes and go with the person / company you feel most compfortable with. Good luck.Have you visited our Webmaster Blog ? :: A different kind of dicussion at Nigerian Forums join free. Do you need UK web hosting? I recommend www.hostingshop.co.uk web hosting.

Thanks, Jake, I suspect you're right. I'm new too, so there's a learning curve to negotiate. But I'll check back in later to see if any other members have good advice.

Take the best offer but don't forget to look for previous experience, testimonials and things of such nature.
