Post vBulletin forum thread to twitter automatically

One great way to make the most of new threads from your vBulletin powered forum is to hook it up with your twitter account so that each time a new thread is created at your forum, its twitt to your twitter. Some of the benefits of doing this is that people who follow your twitter will be able to monitor new threads, come to the forum if its a topic that interests them, this also create an additonal url for your post on your twitter profile potentially bringing you additonal hits.
If also an excellent way to get new twitter followers as people interested in that topic tend to subscribe to your twitter feed. Anyway, here we go

Setup your vBulletin forum to automatically update twitter
There are quite a numbers of ways of doing this including using one of the several vBulletin twitter mod. The most popular vBulletin twiter mod that was approved by vB seem to be this one, its called vBTwitter. the one I describe in this tutorial is set up using Twitterfeed, i prefer this to using a vB mod, here is how to go about it.

1. Create an account on Twitterfeed.com , acctually, you cannot create an account here, you need to login with and open ID account so perhaps create an account at openID
2. Once the account is created, login to twitterfeed, and setup you account (see image below) which involves you providing your twitter account login info and the url of your forum RSS feeds. (its usually your forum url/external.php for example for this forum the url is http://www.webmasterserve.com/external.php
3. Click the create buttom and you are done.
