I agree, Canon is the best choice. And after all, you're not buying a camera everyday.

I will definitely go for Nikon Coolpix S640 Digital Camera - Black (12.0MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 2.7 inch LCD If you are looking for a high quality, easy to use, easy to carry camera without paying for gimmicks like 'projector' etc. then this is for you. Battery power has been good too, only charged it once in two weeks(taken about 600 pictures)!

I also bought a 16gb memory card - it is more than ample, saving up to 2700 images at the highest resolution setting and over 10000 at the lowest resolution. In my point of view only this Camera provide all these feature.

    Thumbs up

I think Panasonic Lumix TZ7 Digital Camera - Black is good to buy as you want the camera with the good zoom& picture quality and some of extra features. It records HD movies (1280 x 720-pixels) in AVCHD Lite, which lets you shoot beautiful HD video with almost twice the recording time compared to the conventional Motion JPEG. Optical zoom can be used when shooting motion images. TZ7 is also the world's first compact camera to feature Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, which records dynamic, true-to-life audio that brings out the power of the HD video. The wind cut function minimises distracting sound from the background during audio recording.TZ7 is also the world's first compact camera to feature Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator, which records dynamic, true-to-life audio that brings out the power of the HD video. Depending on the Panasonic Lumix model, iA mode uses up to six bundled technologies working perfectly together to provide the best possible shooting results every time. Face Recognition registers your favourite friends and family members and will optimize the focus and exposure on your favourite persons. You also have the ability to playback photos by person, and add date, name, age along with adding descriptions to your photos. Since distant objects do not conveniently come to you, Panasonic has equipped its digital still cameras with a high Optical Zoom. For example, the modern Lumix TZ Series features a 12x Optical Zoom Leica DC lens (equivalent to 25-300mm on a conventional 35mm film camera) and enables you to zoom in or out magnifying distant subjects with ease.

Since the internet is becoming so popular for shopping, the choices among merchant is growing every day. That makes it even more important to shop around in order to get the best price on your digital camera but it's also very important to buy from reputable companies. careful at some online stores that are offering non genuine products and without any warranty whatsoever.

I will highly recommend you panasonic cameras which has great features.
