Thread: No more "cougar" in Google paid results

We all probably know what a cougar is: an older woman searching for a younger guy, of course.


So the word is Google has recently deemed the ads containing the word "cougar" on its content pages, saying this kind of sites are "non-family safe". One of the largest company in this "cougar industry" stated that more than 60% of its traffic from Ask.com, YouTube and others will be lost.


What is curious, Google is is still permitting ads for older men searching for younger women. However, no comments have been made about why this is considered family safe and cougars are not.


Websites that spend over $100k/month on advertising their "meet a cougar" services received notices from Google that those ads containing the word "cougar" are not longer accepted and other words must replace that term. However, they will continue to advertise on Facebook which still allows this kind of ads.
