Not much actually, sometime it help you finding good contacts but can not expect huge traffic from forum signature links.

In my opinion forum signatures are very useful. They help to create back links to our site and there by the traffic.Participating in forums is a good way to increase page rank of a site.

Yeah they are. I'm receiving a few hundred unique visitors daily to my websites just from signatures. Since it's all webmaster-related I'm not getting that much earnings from it but they let me earn at least 3$ per day so I'm happy :D

Of course, it not only builds backlinks for you and sometimes leads to direct traffics if you are on the niche forums. :)
