I found a product the other day called sick marketing. It does (from what I can gather) link building by submitting to forums and directories by creating lots of profiles on lists of forums.

My question is this -
How does this type of link building work because surely creating a profile on a forum would not give you a backlink - even if you put your details in the control panel section. Would these get crawled?

Can anyone advise how this type of marketing would actually work?
