Forums are to solve and discuss problems..yeah by it you can generate good backlinks if you follow rules.

Well I think blog commenting is worth and don't give any good add to your website, almost all blogs are nofollow.

Completely agree with this reply.Forums are not for getting backlinks only.They discussion platform rather than advertising.For link building tactics i have considered guest blogging,article submission,directory submission,Press release,video submission,social bookmarking and networking,e.t.c

True, true, with most blogs they have a nofollow on the links so it does not matter how many blogs you post on. (that is if you are trying to get backlinks) It's better to do some Guest Blog Posts on subjects of relevant interest. This does take a bit of time hunting down blogs and developing good content. But after a while you will have good quality backlinks from multiple sources to your website.
