Most of my sites keep unchanged, the directory lost but the most important website got back its earlier, higher PR value.

My case is similar, the only difference is that the site I was expecting its PR to do up actually went down, the sites that I was expecting to lose PR gained PR.

I am not sure how the PR updates are working now. My sites have added an incredible amount of positive links in and out and from higher ranked sites, yet no change. makes no sense.

You need links from a site that passes on PR to gain PR from links.

well most of the sites that I created 2 way links to have PR rankings higher then my current ranking. I guess we will see over time what happens.

I think Google is getting better and better at spotting unnatural links and is penalizing sites for selling links or entering these schemes. This can result in a house of cards effect for a whole chains of sites.

that might be true, but mine were legit. i am venting, lol
