Press Releases
Does anyone here use press releases to get your site seen?
As long as they are legitimate and not `spammy` they could be a good way to get the word out.
I saw this earlier about a press release site by the name of Press Exposure-
I`m thinking of trying it out.PressExposure.com was started in the Summer of 2006 because so many press releases were being submitted to EzineArticles as if they were articles. Of course we couldn't accept them at EzineArticles.com; but now PressExposure.com is home to the press releases that are submitted every day by EzineArticles expert authors.
It's FREE and you can also submit w/out an EzineArticles account by going here:

Teamplayer there are loads of dodgy press release sites, by that I mean they won't get you any press coverage. If you have something that is newsworthy then send it out on a proper press release wire. In the UK a reasonable one that is search engine friendly is Sourcewire:
http://www.sourcewire.com/releases/
There is also http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/, but that will cost about three times as much.
I had one of my sites featured in the Daily Mirror and the Daily Telegraph blog after using Sourcewire

yes it's true that press release can generate a good traffic, but its too costly. its hard to find free press release submission sites and long time to approve if free.

Press release is good way of promoting your website, just make sure it's newsworthy.

You can of course find your own contact details for different publications and journalists, just a lot of legwork. You just need to provide them with something that is easy for them to use. Many publications will just cut and paste a press release or top and tail it - i.e. give it a new into and conclusion.
