Default Why the use of Nofollow links?

I know outbound links are important, Outbound links to relevant, quality websites, using anchor text (link text) relevant to your topic or industry, are good for your website.

Now does a page lose its link juice by linking to other pages or the link juice is divided by the number of outbound links the site is linking to, does it actually do any harm to the main site? If no, then Why the use of Nofollow links?

To many out bound links can harm the site imo, i dont think there is any such thing as link juice leakage , its a glorified statement which actually has no proof to say its real.

I think that people use no follow link to preserve their sites quality since the amount of out bound links can harm the site.

i think a link is useful even if posted in a nofollow site, if it's relevant, and i think the link juice was still there :D

i think NoFollow and DoFollow doesn't better much.
Just build more and more quality backlinks.

Because no follow link attribute was originally created to block search engines from following links in blog comments, due to the amount of blog comment spamming.

The theory is that if spammers are spamming in blog comments to get better SEO and anchored links for their sites, NoFollow would render such spam useless. Problem is, spammers still spam.
