Lots of methods are here to create quality back link. You can go with blog commenting, social book marking and directory submission. Do provide appropriate link to get Quality back link. Don't spam on blog while doing comment posting on it. Do prefer high PR directories for submission. you can get more search engine traffic and increase Google Ranking.

You can comment has much as you want, more backlinks for you that way. There is no limit, just don't spam. and there are many kinds of social book marking to use to complete the function. and the advantages about directories for submission is also important to creat quaility back link.

Commenting could be a full time job on it's own. Helpful ones will get you actual traffic from them besides improving SEO.

mmmm, the classical question. I think you have to combine all tactics in order to be effective, else you`ll lose your time and you will never be able to get an authority in a certain domain.

- article submission
- web directory submission
- blogging on different systems
- forum posting ( direct link or signature link )
- bookmarking on systems with direct link
etc etc

Directories and Bookmarking are the main two link building processes in seo.These two processes are very powerful in practical.

Apart from Directories,There are many link building process are there. Two way linking(reciprocal links and three way linking) are other ways.

Press Releases....and my favorite...Create a free toolbar(there are place online to do this)...brand it to your website and submit it ti thousands of download sites

i use directories, social bookmarking, and forum posting.... and i think classifieds also a big help in link building :D

I think social bookmarking, forum signature links and blogging might be top 3 sources for building backlinks. :)
