Guys sorry to burst your bubble but link building will not guarantee search engine rankings and it will not even give you great traffic (though it may). In terms of how important it is in SEO, it becomes of interest only if you want to get your PageRank (PR) up but that is only an issue if you are selling advertising. PageRank has nothing (absolutely nothing!!!) to do with where you are placed on the search engine rankings. Sites with PR 0 routinely beat PR7 websites when their relevancy is greater.
