Thread: Difference between PPC & SEO

I know this might be a little elementary, but what is the main difference between SEO and PPC? Do you consider PPC to be part of SEO?

If you have a website that is well optimised, and ppc campaign is live for the site, in such situation SEO serves as helping hand to the site. This helps to improve the quality score for the site in PPC campaigns.

PPC is paid advertising through Google, Bing, Yahoo, and companies like Clicksor and AdBright. Personally, I view Search Engine PPC as more valid and useful than Clicksor or AdBright (and similar companies) because it is aimed at people actively looking for the product or service.
Companies offering PPC outside of Search Engines are displaying your ads in a content network, which often means pop-ups and ads in articles and related pages. So, those people may be "tricked" into clicking your ad, and you'll be charged.

SEO is the task of making your site as pleasing to the Search Engines as possible through the proper use of keywords, on-page optimization, links into your site with keywords in anchor text and so on.
IMO, original content is the primary driver for SEO along with link building.
