    Default vb-SEO question

I plan to upgrade a forum from phpbb-seo to vb-seo and I have a question about url rewriting.

The question is: Can you custom rewrite url's with vb-seo? Basically, I want my url's to show like this:
    http://www.mydomain.com/my-post-name-tNNN.html

where NNN is the post number.

    Thank you.

SEO, You cannot upgrade from phpBB to vBSEO, but you can upgrade from phpBB to vBulletin. After upgrading to vBulletin you can then add vBSEO to vBulletin.

vBSEO is a vBulletin SEO mod,vBulletin license cost $180 and vBSEO cost $149, without first upgrading to vBulletin, you cannot install vBSEO.

The final answer to your question is, yes, vBSEO support the custom rewrite rule scenario you gave about.

    Thank you very much Temi.

I really need to see if it is worth to move from phpbb to vb without compromising links currently indexed by google and this was one of the important questions.

Now I need to further analyse the complexity and the potential benefits of this migration.

All the links indexed by Google will be lost because the urls will change but it will be reindexed withing a few days with its new SEO friendly url

But normally, if I can do rewrite as per model presented in my first post, then the url's will be exactly the same, isn't it? Therefore, why should the links disappear from google, since the crawler will find the same url's? (and no duplicates ofcourse)

You can do rewrite in the example you gave but is that how your url is at the moment?

Yup. This is why i asked about that format.

Now I have seen that vb will release v4 in q2 2009, which will include seo-friendly url support....
