Modern blackhat has evolved from simple cloaking. Which is better Whitehat SEO or Blackhat SEO?

Here`s an article about whitehat and blackhat techniques. I would never knowingly use blackhat methods of SEO. For a fact Google employs (directly or indirectly) individuals who assess sites to look for such things as `cloaking` which will result in those sites being heavily penalised by the search engines.



Whitehat and blackhat SEO (Search Engine Optimization) are two different (and normally opposing) views of how to do search engine optimization. Whitehats are those website designers that "play nice" and try to follow all of the search engine guidelines to optimize their site. Blackhats are where website designers use backdoors, cloaking, and other tricks to optimize sites. This description was found in the Dec. 19, 2005 Newsweek article entitled "Hotwiring your Search Engine.":

I will go with White Hat SEO any day. Black Hat SEO might fetch you some quick results but all the work done to that particular site is in vain once Search Engines find out the Black Hat tricks.

On the other hand, White Hat SEO may take a lot of time in comparison with the other but it would ensure you some kind of "Guarantee" which you can't experience with Black Hat SEO.

I know blackhat SEO does an excellent job when it comes to improving your SE rankings but I still would not consider practicing blackhat SEO because its effect will definitely hurt in the long run.

White hats tend to produce results that last a long time, whereas black hats anticipate that their sites may eventually be banned either temporarily or permanently once the search engines discover what they are doing.

I think, white hat is the best. However, Google or other search engine are not stupid. So, who used Black hat, I'm sure it will be detected.
