There is a number of way one can use to build links for a site, some of them include the following:

• Article Submission
• Social Bookmarking
• Directory Submission
• Link Exchange/Paid link

Which of the about do you thing is the best method to get quality backlinks for a site.

From the ones listed above I think article submission would qualify as the best -> contextual links are and will be the best ones you could try to get.

yet, with article submission, similar to directory submission, you`ll have to wait till your submission is approved and the effects of it may not always be the same.

Hunting backlink from dofollow blogs and forums is so good. I have proven it.

blogging and forums.... in blogging you can put some backlinks and and at the same time, as your blog get popular, your site also have traffic came from your blog :D

I prefer Link exchange and Social bookmarking,,,, Social bookmarking is the best way to get site popular and from link exchange you get good back link from related site that back link is boost to site

link exchange is good but paid links never.... there are a lot of free resource everywhere in the internet that quality to post links... and i think you don't need to pay to have your links index :D

I think it is funny that Google says no to paid links since that is essentially what Adwords is. As far as your list goes, Forum postings is by far the best. Social Bookmarking can be good if you pair it with article submissions to direct link juice.
