Facts that can help you made a good link exchange
Today I have read a lots of articles about link exchange due to my work, here are a few points that I consider important, I will add more facts as I found more interesting articles.
Link from authority sites
Website authority is a product of multiple factors (trust rank, relevance and endorsement from websites who have earned a position of authority from search engines).
Factors that are known to determine site authority are:
Domain Age, the Scope and range of your Contents Expertise, very relevant content. Do not add content just to have content, add quality content.
Links from related sites
One of the most fundamental facts in link exchange is to obtain links from related sites. What is related sites? Related sites means websites in the same area of interest as yours. For example, if you have a webpage about web hosting, the best pages to obtain links from is a webpage about web hosting, web hosting comparision, blogs about web hosting. This is the best practice in my oppinion. Some of you may say that domain registration is also relevant. Maybe...
Domain Age Tool
A website’s age is one of the major factors used to rank it in the search engines. There are varius ways to check this. Just Google it and you will find many ways.
Domain name as a SEO fact
Select the domain name as per popularity of your company or products. Make a short list of keywords related to your company, business, service or profession. If your product or brand name is more popular than your company name than you should select domain related to your product or brand name.
Dropped Domains can harm you
If you plan for the online business and spend resources on your website including seo, designing, etc then must go for the new domain. A dropped domain could be risky for your seo and for your business. Why? Because some domains are banned permanently due to the black hat seo techniques or the owner used it for spamming the search engines.archive.org can help you find the answer in case you search information about a domain.
Links in Blog comments
A very good source of valuable links, but you have to take care of the nofollow links. Check if a link in blog is nofollow. Many blogs from Wordpress or MovableType are well known for implementing the "nofollow" tag right off the bat. Basically, commenting on blogs will not help your ranking on Google if the comment is on a blog that has nofollows built in. The good news is that Yahoo and MSN do not follow this rule at this point, so when you post comments they will count the link as a backlink to your website. This can help increase your search engine rankings if it is done right.
What blogs are really worthing to comment in?
- Blogs on the topic of your own website.
- Blogs that your target market read (even if the topic is not totally related to your website).
- Blogs on topics of interest to you.
Comment intelligently. As long as you are adding to the discussion, the blogger will appreciate your contribution. It is also worth returning to posts you have commented on.

Also I just found a few points that a lot of people have arrive to a point. This was found on a very autoritative site. I am curious about the last point especially. I heard more and more this lately.
The most highly prized link in the eyes of Google is presented like this (and it’s extremely HARD to get):
a) A link on a site that relates to your content or industry niche.
b) A link within the body of the content (an inline link) not in the sidebar or on a “links” page.
c) A link with your keywords in it.
d) A direct link to your content page, not your homepage.
