Thread: Google page seacher

Hi Guys..,

I have written a little program where you enter your URL, enter keyword(s) and the start page of google and the end page you want to search upto.

Click go and the software does a search for the URL on each google "search page" one after the other....

However, being silly I never thought that google doesn't like automated search tools (never crossed my mind) because all I wanted to do was see what page a URL was listed on with certain keywords... rather than do it manually.

Anyone have any other ideas ? Does google have any other offerings?

All i'm trying to do is find the page number a keyword is on, so I can track its movement over time, and see if any optomisation is having a positive or negative effect on the site.

I have about 30 websites I look after, and doing this manually is not realistic.

How do you guys track your websites positions?

Any ideas / thought would be welcome.

I have come accross seocheck.org which looks ok and seems to offer the features I want, but $14.99 a month for more than 2 sites :(

I tried with the meta refresh code with allow meta refresh option both enabled and disabled and it complained on both times. don't know how! Nevertheless, prior to this my allow meta refresh was disabled and search wasnt working.
