Default Remember your niche site? – make it work

Although not all the rage at the mo – niche sites come and go. However if your niche is still ‘niche’ pay it some attention and go back to thinking why you set it up. If you can remember the reasons and to get it earning again, give it a go. There’s a few reasons for this.

Its been indexed already and has linkbacks. You’d be surprised how many sites are linking too it now because I bet you did some directory submissions months ago you forgot about!

Check its PageRank. If its up there, why not advertise to people to advertise on your PR x site. If its PR2 upwards you’ll be surprised what people will pay to get their link on your homepage.

Bring the site up to date. Just a couple of hours work to modernise your site. It will give it a newer look and feel – update the ********* info and keywords. Use the Google tools to check your keywords are still valid and niche. If not, get them updated and get your ads on there too.

I’d be interested to hear if anyone has and sites with cobwebs on them that have earned a small fortune while they’ve been forgotten about!

PPS – I found I had a bank account from my student days 10 years ago that was still open. They send me a cheque with the closing balance in it…. £0.58p Brilliant.

This part amazed me. What kind of bank do we have now that keeps an inactive account for 10 years and then gives you cheque? Amazing!

HSBC - I was surprised. It was a dormant account according to their records but as there was money still in it, they have to give it to its rightful owner I suppose! Fine by me!!!

I really have overlook HSBC over other competitive banks available here in our area. But knowing things about it from experience experiences such as yours makes them a good contender for my future earnings.. Thanks for sharing this information martinglover. Appreciated.

Niche sites especially if the domain is few years old def can help a person earn a little on the side especially with good content. I still remember there was a time when some folks were making MFA sites on every niche but I am glad majority of those sites are gone.

If they're properly setup, niche sites can be great for earning residual income. Just make sure you build plenty of targeted backlinks to them.
