Thread: Precision Google Analytics

Over the past few months I’ve become a really big fan of Google Analytics and its used for getting your site right to perfection for SEO. For a free tool it’s a wonderful bit of kit that offers so much potential. There are a few things worth bearing in mind though.

IP Filters
This is an excellent feature that allows you to keep your analytics correct and accurate. Set an IP filter to exclude your home and work (or any other IP addresses that you frequently visit the site with). That way it will not record these and your visits recorded will not be your own.

Integrate to Adsense & Adwords
The facility to integrate your adsense and adwords accounts mean that you can view what revenue is being generated by your ads, but also hw much you spend. From this you can see what ads are performing and which sites your best results are coming from. Obviously from then either change the keywords for the ads or drop the ads from the lesser performing sites and invest the money in your better performing ones.

It's a great tool indeed, and being free is even great. I've changed it to AwStats lately to see how it manages also. :)
