Thread: Traffic from Social Bookmarking Sites

Do you really get huge traffic that converts from social networking sites? which of the sites brings you the most traffic?
I usually gets spike of traffic from SU, but little converts. Most traffic I receive from SU and others usually don’t stay long unless they came because they were viewing my portfolio rather than hitting the stumble button.

Yes. Social bookmarking sites are great source of traffic. I get more traffic from the sites like stumble upon, dig, delicious, facebook etc.

i get quite some traffic from social bookmarking....ok maybe not huge amounts of it but it is definitely important if you wish to promote your website.

Twitter and Facebook have always brought me a solid stream of traffic, now on the other hand if you are looking for traffic from social bookmarking sites, this can be tricky. There are so many submissions every day and every minute, your content really needs to stick out and be interesting to get a good amount of traffic. I have seen thousands of visits overnight on both stumbleupon and digg if the story gets picked up and becomes popular.

Stumbleupon and digg. but I've never scored big yet.

Most of my traffic comes from Digg, stumble upon and facebook. Its a great source for targeted traffic.
