Since more and more webmasters use social bookmarking as way of wide spreading, I would like to ask what are the top benefits and advantages of social bookmarking.

For me, especially in my blog, every time I posted new article I always bookmark it through every social bookmarking site so that it could either drive traffic to my blog as well as to support my link building campaign.

I also observed that SE tend to crawl first this Social Bookmarking site i.e. the pligg format social bookmarking sites.

How about you guys, why does social bookmarking help your site or blog?

yeah bookmarking sites are good for faster indexing if you get your site bookmarked on various sites.
Then, they are great for exposure... your links could spread to the other websites a lot faster compared to other methods if its properly placed.

Yep. Aside from building some links, social bookmarking can help us in driving Internet users to our blog or site. It is important to use "catchy/attractive" titles in our bookmarks and more importantly, we should provide useful/helpful/interesting information in our bookmarks. :)
