    PageRank is passed from page to page. The way to get PageRank is to get a link from site/page with a higher pagerank. If the link is from trusted page, most of the time pagerank will pass to your page from the link.

    You can improve the PR of your web-pages by improving the variety of excellent, do-follow inbound links directing to your website.

    However, I would have never frustrated about this PR things...
    This idea of PR is very much useless preserve for the point that it gives web page owners a short-term, fluffy sensation.

    Hope this will help...

    Getting a PageRank is not as simple as it was before. Due to the on-going changes in the Google algorithm, it is hard to say that how Google will rank the sites. Till now, the page rank was passed from page to page, however, nowadays, the recent changes in the Google algorithm, especially in regards to the content has shown that Google is now considering and awarding sites based on the quality of content and backlinks.

    Improving PR is very difficult. Google is changing its algorithm regularly so it is hard to say that how Google will rank the websites. SO try to update your website content regularly and do proper link building work.

    Nowadays Page Rank is only one of ranking factors and nobody knows its importance. You can have PR2 and have higher rankings than website with PR3 or PR4. There are many other important ranking factors as unique content, relevant titles and H1, good link structure. If you want to increase your PR you need to get more links from pages with high PR.

    Instead of PR, check out your 'authority' on OSE. This gives a better indication of whether the search engines see your site in a positive or negative light. The days of PR as a measurement tool are dead.

    For example;

    Webmasterserve has;

    Domain Authority - 59
    Linking Domains - 716
    Total Links - 48.058
    Facebook Shares - 50
    Facebook Likes - 77
    Tweets - 27
    Google +1's - 1

    In most cases your home page will hold the greatest weight on your website and as such it should accumulate the highest page rank. Having a large blog with each page linking back to the home is one of the surest ways to get some decent page rank to your home page.

    The best way to build up your page rank is to use White Hat SEO tactics. Tactics such as blogging, getting quality backlinks to your site and producing great content are all valid practices approved by Google. Stay away from short-term tricks such as keyword stuffing and submitting to article directories. Over time, your site/blog should be able to build up its page rank.

    Homepage in most cases has the largest weight on your website if your link structure in usual. But you can make you internal link structure such way: all your pages will be linked to some one other your page. And if you will be promoting this page so this page will have more weight and have higher PR then your homepage.

    You need to create quality backlinks, not spammy links, then once google rolls out its update every few months you will see if your site has been deemed authoritative enough to have a PR increase

    When ranking in the SERPs, PR is not a huge problem - but if you want to increase you website PR - what you can do is to link with relevant/related website and link them in your homepage and mostly within your internal pages.

    I suggest you that you can try to do link building and update your site with fresh content regularly. Make your site search engine friendly. I think Article submission and Link exchange techniques are the most effective in search engine optimization for building quality back links from high page rank sites.

    Getting a page rank is a gradual process. If it is a blog, yo must concentrate on getting it indexed and increasing its web presence by getting more traffic for it. If the web presence for the blog or website is increased, it will start getting a page rank.

    Your website could have a lot of traffic but has only PR1 or 2 and websites with high PR>5 could have very low traffic.
