Google wants to be a trader of electricity
Google, the world's search engine leader, has asked U.S. authorities for permission to become a trader of electricity, in order to improve access to renewable energy and better manage the supply for their operations.
The application was filed in December at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, via Google Energy.
This action is an indication of the significant amount of energy required by major players on the technology market in order to power their network of servers.
