I'm not sure if anyone else has every used an offshore shared host, but good ones are hard to come by now a days. I've used a few in the past, but always had uptime and support issues. However, several months ago my friend told me about SolidNode.com which recently just opened and I've been pretty happy.

So far I've had support responses around 1-3hrs with the Low setting when I submit a ticket. most of my issues have been needing help with loading up my site(big SQL DB) which they loaded in for me pretty fast.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with support and speed.
