I don't believe that a free web hosting can have a maximum uptime guarantee. Even top companies, as Greegeeks or Hostmonster shows
97% - 90% uptime range. I thought that that is not true, but after visiting Webhosting Watch I got this useful information regarding the uptime and other things.

well.. it is better having paid service because we may loose freedom and control on free hosting.

Everybody here is more inclined to pay for web hosting, but i think you should do what Rethadr did and just check it out. You might be surprised.
