Thread: Making cPanel server spam proof

I have been having problems with spamming on one of my servers recently, its and cPanel server. I have disabled open relay on it but the problem persist. Does anyone have tips on how to stop spamming on a cPanel/RedHat server?

Have you tried setting spamassassin with a score of 15 to reject from server? That works wonders for me. It has eliminated a lot of spam. You can even set it with a higher score of like 17 to reject mails with that spam score. That will do even better.

Thanks for that suggestion Dennis, I will give it a try. Been using BoxTrapper so far and its works fine just a pain having to configure it for each email account individually.... just imagine the admin when you have loads of users.

No problem Temi, yeah it is a pain to configure each email individually. I guess you are like me having tons and tons of email accounts and just want to simplify things by changing one setting and it changes for all email accounts. I set spamassassin turned on for all email accounts including all email accounts for my hosting customers as well with an option for them to turn it off if for instance some customers just like to recieve spam. lol
