    What type of backlinks do you go for? web directories, link exchange with other websites, forum sigs etc

    I use just a few directories so it's mainly advertising as an affiliate or a link in my sig.

    At the moment we only have a few - a couple of link exchanges and some directory entries.

    I would be really interested to hear which is most effective - does it depend on the type of business?
