How to Edit headers Images in Wordpress 3.2 Twenty Eleven Template
Editing Header Images in WordPress Twenty Eleven Template

Headers images located at the top of Twenty Eleven wordpress sites make the template one of the most beautiful an easy to customise WordPress theme. With basic steps below, you can quickly replace the default images with your own images. The default images are cropped to 1000x288px.
In this particular tutorial I will be working with wordpress 3.2, using a Twenty Eleven template. I will show you how to change, edit or remove a header. Of course, you can always stick with the default headers, but these may not be suitable for your site, or may lack the creativity that you want to display.

1. To do this, you need to be logged in with administrator permission. Refer to the menu on the left hand side where you will find the appearance button.
2. Click this, and more options will appear below, such as header, widgets, background etc. Select header.
3. When a wordpress 3.2 Twenty Eleven site is first created, it comes with eight default headers, including a pine cone on a marble pillar, and a weeping willow tree. These headers are not finite, they can be changed.

4. If you have a particular favourite, you can select it by checking the box beside the image. This will ensure that every time the site is visited this image will be displayed. If you like them all, and would like them all to be shown at random, check the random box above the images.
5. If, on the other hand, creativity strikes, and you decide you would like to upload your own image, you can do so by scrolling to about the top quarter of the page, and selecting the browse button. This allows you to search the images on your computer.
6. When you have found a suitable image, double click on it to select it, and it will open. Click the upload button to upload it, and once this is completed, it will be cropped to precisely 1000x288px. Before it is finalized you can select which part will be cropped, then click on the crop and publish button at the bottom of the page.
WARNING; once an image has been cropped and added, it is very difficult to undo, so the process of adding a personalized header must proceed with extreme care.
TIP; If you don't like a header, and accidental click on remove header image in an attempt to remove that particular image, only to find all are removed, press the back button until you arrive at a page where the header is shown, and click save changes. The images should be restored.
