Different things have different advantages. just use whatever you like to upload your files to the server.

I have SmartFTP and Filezilla, but I used SmartFTP most of time, because I think it is better.

i am using Cute FTP , it is simple and user friendly , i prefer u to use cute ftp or core ftp which is free

WS-FTP, FTP accelerator, Cute-FTP, FileZilla etc or you should be able to use the FTP command line from DOS prompt in Windows
